O Brother, Where Art Thou? Tribute

A gang of super-talented Philly folks has once again been convened by our friends at the Sexton Sideshow. I’ll be joining Carolyn Thorne, Sarah Biemiller, and Tracey Hill to sing “Always on the Sunny Side” and “Down to the River to Pray” as well as some group numbers. If you love this movie or its soundtrack, it’s not to be missed. Visit the FB event page for more information.

Fringe Festival: Paprika Plains

Sisters Natalie Fletcher and Jessica Noel will take you back in time to tell a story of love, loss, and bargaining with the universe inspired by Joni Mitchell’s 1977 album Don Juan’s Reckless Daughter. Told through live body painting and dance-theater, with lighting design by John Noel and music by Joni Mitchell. Pre-show Joni songs on guitar and cello by Heather Shayne Blakelsee of Sweetbriar Rose.

Performance space Philly PACK is an artistic home for dance- and theatre-loving children and adults, located in South Philadelphia. The beating heart of Philly PACK is the performers who create new work inside our walls! Philly PACK is proud to welcome visiting artist Natalie Fletcher. Natalie is a Portland-based body-painter who won Skin Wars season 1. This is her first collaboration with a performance artist/choreographer (sister Jessica Noel).

Erotic Literary Salon

On the third Tuesday of every month, you can step into a sanctuary for verbal expression in the upstairs lounge at Time in Center City Philadelphia. Founded by sexologist Dr. Susana Mayer, each evening consists of an open-discussion adult sex-ed hour, and then open readings of fiction, poetry, memoir and more. I'm now a co-producer and guest host for the salon, which will also be creating a signature yearly event to launch in the fall of 2018. All are welcome into this space, which is a home for wayward literary works that don't have a place with traditional venues or publishers. Grab a glass of wine and enjoy good conversation, company and a chance to read or listen, the head downstairs for the city's best jazz open mike.

I won't be there every single time to greet you, but it's worth it whether I'm hosting or not!

V2: Creation Myth... February 23 and February 24

Inspired by the Vagina Monlogues, producer Lauren Leonard of Earlie Bird Productions is set to release a new show, which I've been co-writing and editing. It  will explore a snapshot of the psychic aftermath of the 2017 presidential election, viewed through the lense of the lived experience of a small group of professional women. This ensemble piece will be told via personal memoir, composite experiences, and culminate in a new creation myth for America. Along the way, it will touch on sexuality, motherhood, work, feminism, race, politics, sexual assault and more. Tickets go on sale on January 10 for performances on February 23 and 24 at Philly PACK in South Philadelphia.  Sign up on the mailing list for updates, and get your tickets now.
